Cyclists - Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Germany

Rothenburg ob der Tauber

It’s not a particularly long route, but there are some hilly sections so you’ll need to be up for some climbing as well as the fun downhills that inevitably follow. Most of the riding is on paved bike paths, and the only real traffic you’ll encounter will be on the way in and out of the larger towns

Current rating for this cycling holiday based on 1 review 4.5
  • Date - 14/08/2016
  • Name - Kate and Ruth
  • Service rating -
  • Service comment - Alyson in the main office was very helpful and quick to respond to questions and to help when I had credit card issues on payment

Our tour start date coincided with floods in the area that we would be biking through, and the day before we set out Alyson verified for us that the routes would be clear and there would be no detours
  • Product rating -
  • Product comment - The majority of the tourist and route material was in German with only route instructions in English which meant that we had no information on the sights along the way.The materials were split with maps in the German book and translated text directions on a separate sheet. This made navigating unnecessarily difficult. Compounding the problem there was no bike mounted map carrier provided which meant frequent stops to consult the various sets of materials.

The bike gears on both the rental bikes provided by Donau needed a tune up before they were delivered to us as we found several of the gears were unavailable

All of the accommodation (comfort level) was good and very well located in town centres and we enjoyed the route and the destination towns
  • Flexitreks response - Thanks for the feedback Kate. We're glad you enjoyed your holiday overall. We take your point about the route notes and are working with our local supplier to improve these documents for English speaking customers.
