Pedal Power in CroatiaPosted on June 9, 2014
As a solo cyclist I recently enjoyed a trip to Croatia on a cycle cruising holiday. The level of cycling was a tad bit challenging for me, so I opted to take an electric bike or e-bike, which helped enormously and certainly made the trip so much more manageable and fun.
Make no bones about it, I was still cycling for 3-4 hours a day through an undulating landscape and was glad to have some lovely people in tow, which added to the whole experience. It was worth all the huffing, puffing on the way up as we reached the top of our climbs and stopped to take in the incredible scenery and sheer vastness of our wonderful surroundings.
We cruised each day to a different island, off loaded the bikes and cycled our hearts out. Then it was back to the boat for a relaxing evening with my fellow guests.
We stayed on board the Harmonia, a fabulous motor yacht with spacious cabins a great crew including an on board chef who cooked exquisite, 3 course meals, night after night which just got better and better as the week wore on. Your can also purchase wine with your dinner and the local wine comes highly recommended!
Evenings are a sociable affair in the cosy saloon or on deck. We were fortunate enough to have a great guitarist amongst our fellow passengers who regaled us with many ‘old favourites’ and had us signing along to boot!
So, have a look at this wonderful trip – Dalmatia from Dubrovnik Cycle Cruises and if you have any queries please feel free to ask, as I am very pleased to have experienced it first hand.
