This wonderful route unveils some of the Dolomites’ most spectacular scenery. Awe inspiring peaks, crystal clear lakes and verdant valleys provide the back-drop to the first four days – most of which is on cycle paths. Thereafter you follow quiet lanes through the picturesque Prosecco region to historic Treviso and finally to Venice.
This leisurely to moderate route first leads you along the glorious Pusteria Valley, providing you with stunning views of soaring Dolomite peaks. You then head south, following a picturesque cycle path that weaves its way through the mountains, past the pretty town of Cortina d’Ampezzo and into the peaceful Cadore valley.
Then it’s on to the beautiful town of Belluno and the towering peaks of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. The scenery then changes as you descend towards the sea of prosecco vineyards around Valdobbiadene. You will then visit Asolo, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, before riding on to the charming old town Treviso. Venice provides a fitting end to such a scenic cycling holiday and La Serenissima is sure to beguile you with her unique charms.
On this route you will cycle on tarmac lanes and cycle paths as well as some unpaved gravel paths. There are some climbs to contend with along the way, mostly over the first couple of days, but they are not that tough and e-bikes are an option if you are at all concerned about this element of the trip.
