In springtime, the bulb fields of Holland burst into a spectacular display of colour, transforming the Dutch countryside into a vibrant patchwork of blooms. From mid-March to mid-May, millions of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and crocuses blanket the fields in radiant stripes of red, pink, yellow, purple, and white.
Our 4 night Tulip Field Cycling holidays are focused on showcasing this breathtaking floral spectacle in all its glory. Cycle paths through the tulip fields, offer a peaceful and immersive way to experience the stunning blooms and the fragrant spring air.
The heart of the bulb-growing region lies between the cities of Haarlem and Leiden, particularly around Lisse, home to the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens. Often referred to as the “Garden of Europe,” the Keukenhof features over seven million bulbs in bloom across carefully designed landscapes and themed gardens. All our Tulip routes include an opportunity to visit the Keukenhof.
As well as hotel-based tulip fields cycling holidays we also offer bike and boat tulip cycling holidays as well. On these holidays you will live aboard a luxury barge, disembarking somewhere new each day to enjoy wonderful rides through the Dutch countryside.
Our easy cycling holidays offer short daily rides on mostly level terrain. A typical day’s ride will take 2 – 3 hours at a leisurely pace and the remainder of the day will be free for you to explore further or simply relax. These rides are particularly recommended for newcomers to cycling holidays and for families.
Our leisurely cycle holidays will suit those who are reasonably fit through regular exercise of one kind or another – not necessarily cycling. On the whole, the terrain will be level but there may also be a few small hills to contend with along the way too. Daily rides will typically take around 3 – 4 hours to complete.
Our moderate cycle holidays are for regular cyclists, who are used to longer rides with regular climbs. A good level of fitness is needed and you can expect to be in the saddle for between 4 and 5 hours each day.
These holidays are for seasoned cyclists who cycle long distances regularly and who enjoy the thrill of long days in the saddle. There will undoubtedly be some challenging climbs along the way and you can expect to cover between 55 and 75 miles each day.

A Spring cycling break in Holland, designed specifically to showcase the extensive tulip fields to the west of Amsterdam. You’ll spend your first night in the city before embarking on a 3 day lazy loop ride through the tulip fields. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the stunning Keukenhof Flower Gardens.
